The Canada Finland Chamber of Commerce celebrated Independence Day and Christmas in a grand event on December 6th that was a resounding success. The event, which was completely sold out, saw attendees staying late into the night, a testament to its success and the enjoyable atmosphere.

The evening kicked off at 6:30 pm with registration, a photobooth, and the serving of glögg, a traditional warm drink. At 7:00 pm, the President of the Canada Finland Chamber of Commerce, Marika Arovuo, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. This was followed by an Independence Day greeting from the President of the Republic of Finland, specifically addressed to Finnish expatriates and Finns abroad, which was read by the Honorary Consul of Finland in Toronto, Peter Auvinen.

The attendees then joined in a sing-along of “Maamme laulu,” the Finnish National Anthem. The festive spirit continued with a traditional Finnish Christmas Dinner Buffet, featuring a lavish spread that catered to all tastes.

The entertainment for the evening included a performance by comedian Jon Tamblyn followed by a raffle, with the grand prize being two VIP tickets to a Raptors game. The evening concluded with music and engaging conversations, marking the end of a memorable and successful event.
