Check out this interesting article examining why the Finnish school system – famous for its success in the international PISA assessment – has been so successful and what North American education providers can learn.  Hint – it doesn’t involve more standardized testing or micro-managing of teachers, but relies heavily on trust.

Honorary title given to Tuula Kivinen

June 30th, 2011

At the Annual General Meeting on June 7th, 2011, Tuula Kivinen was honored with the new title “Honorary President and Lifetime Member”.  This was given in recognition for her long-time commitment and leadership to the Canada-Finland Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Kivinen was the Chamber’s President from 2004-2009 and the Vice President from 2009-2011.  This is the first time that the CFCC has bestowed such a title on one of its members.
